Today is New Member Sunday. My heart jumps for joy as I look at each name of our new members in the Sunday program! Their "yes" to being part of our Seaside Family is a wonderful confirmation that Seaside is alive, growing and making a difference. We’ll call them up to the stage at the end of the second service to say their names so we can officially welcome them.

You’ve been called to go deeper with your spiritual practices by Spirit. These are dynamic times we are all in, which is Spirit’s nudge to look a little deeper for the God Presence–as well as a prayer request to know a greater truth that avoids confusion. The sea offers a wonderful metaphor for going deeper to get beyond the turbulent surface and to discover the treasure that lies in the depths. The first week we looked out at the infinite expanse of the sea in which we live, move and have our being, and we realized there is untold treasure to be discovered. The second week we spoke of the importance of embracing change if we wanted to experience a shift in our life. You can’t keep doing what you're doing and hope for things to be different. Last week was about paddling out, moving away from the security of the known shore and into the adventure of greater possibilities.

This week is about going deeper to discover and bring back the golden treasure that lies in the depths of your being. You are the treasure.
